Product Overview

A single positive pressure roof coating package that provides a highly flexible waterproof coating with excellent weather resistance and long life flexibility. Ideal for use in areas with extreme weather conditions. Applied by brush or spray and after drying can be covered without covering.

Properties

Flexicoat is a blend of weather-resistant pigments, fillers and acrylic resins with the following properties:

Waterproof and weather resistant coating.
Allows the surface to breathe while remaining strongly anchored to the substrate.
Provides a seamless coating.
High flexibility.
Quick drying.
Reflects ultraviolet rays (light).

Areas of Use

Flexicoat is designed for application on roofs constructed from a wide variety of materials i.e. concrete, lightweight concrete, tiles, wood, galvanised steel, asphalt and asbestos cement. Ensure a slope of 1:75 is maintained to avoid ponding.

Method of application

Preparation

Ensure that dust, dirt and foreign matter are removed from roof surfaces. All cracks should be well filled with TERRACO Acrylic Filler. Before covering old substrates in humid tropical areas, surfaces should first be washed with a household bleach solution 12 hours before recoating to prevent new growth of fungus and algae.

Priming

If the substrate is porous, it is best to use TERRACO Penetrating Primer before applying Flexicoat.

Application

Flexicoat can be applied by spray or brush, embedding fibreglass scrim in areas requiring reinforcement. Allow to dry and apply another coat to give a total consumption of approximately 1-1.5kg/m2. Do not apply if rain threatens, as Flexicoat is not rain resistant until completely dry.

Clean tools and equipment with water after use.
