Product Overview

Handycoat Exterior is a ready-to-use filler for use on all common construction surfaces including wood. It provides a high quality, unified surface for painting. Handycoat Exterior is specifically manufactured for the painter to repair and touch up exterior and interior surfaces, both new and old, prior to painting. It is designed to fill joints, hairline cracks, etc. by hand application.

Unlike conventional fillers, Handycoat Exterior has elastic properties, does not flake, is permanent and retains its adhesion.

Properties

Handycoat Exterior is formulated with precisely graded acrylic binders and fillers. Properties include:

  • Strong and durable filling
  • Weather resistant
  • Alkali resistant
  • Easy to apply
  • Quick drying
  • High resistance to cracks
  • Excellent adhesion

Unlike conventional fillers, Handycoat Exterior has elastic properties, does not flake, is permanent and retains its adhesion.

Areas of Use

Handycoat Exterior is suitable for both exterior and interior surfaces. When dry, Handycoat Exterior is weather resistant and adheres extremely well to cement, plaster, gypsum board, spray plaster and wood materials.

It is used as a thin-set filler to patch fine cracks in walls, ceilings, soffits, repair damaged plaster, paint, filling holes and defects in woodwork, making good exposed concrete, filling dents in galvanized metal and anti-rust priming.

Method of application

Surface preparation

Make sure dust, dirt and foreign matter are cleaned away. Ridges and oil should be removed from the form. When applying filler to old painted surfaces, first wash with soda/water solution, rinse and allow to dry before filling.

To stabilize a surface that shows signs of dust or peeling, the use of penetrating primer is recommended.

Application:

Apply the filler in a thin layer and smooth it over; if the area being repaired requires a thick layer, apply several thin layers, allowing each layer to dry before adding the next. Lightly sand the final dry surface before painting, preferably within 9 hours of application.

Clean tools and equipment with water after use.
