Product Overview

Handycoat Interior is a ready-to-use filler and board bonding compound for most construction surfaces including sand/cement and gypsum board. It provides a high quality, unified surface for painting. Handycoat Interior is specially formulated for the painter to repair and touch up surfaces, both old and new, prior to painting.

Unlike conventional fillers, Handycoat Exterior has elastic properties, does not flake, is permanent and retains its adhesion.

Areas of Use

When dry, Handycoat Interior adheres extremely well to cementitious materials, plaster, plasterboard, spray plasters, wood, galvanised steel threads and all common building surfaces. Ideal as a plasterboard and skimcoat bonding compound, for patching hairline cracks in walls, ceilings, repairing damage to plaster/paint work, nail holes in woodwork, making good around door architraves and along the top of skirting boards.

Method of application

Surface preparation

New Surfaces: Make sure all dust, dirt and foreign matter is scraped and brushed away. Also make sure surfaces are free of salts, oil, grease and ridges. Protect all adjacent surfaces from being covered.

Old Surfaces: Before applying to old surfaces, make sure the substrate is sound. First wash the surface with a sugar soap solution, rinse and allow to dry before repairing or applying primer.

Application:

Apply the filler in a thin layer and blend. If a thick layer is needed, apply several thin layers, allowing it to dry between layers. Lightly sand the final surface before painting, within 24 hours of application.

Clean tools and equipment with water after use.
